Company History

Medical Risk Management, LLC was conceived in 2002 by a group of visionaries including medical malpractice defense attorneys, healthcare administrators, managed care and information technology experts, healthcare clinicians, professional liability insurance experts and healthcare risk managers.

The MRM Vision

"By integrating clinical, legal, information technology, healthcare operations, and insurance expertise a comprehensive risk management system for physicians, hospitals and other healthcare organizations can be engineered to reduce medical malpractice exposures and improve patient safety."

That vision was the basis for the development of Medical Risk Management (MRM), LLC. The Company was incorporated in Connecticut 2003 and began operations in the winter of that year. In the first quarter of 2004, KLN Specialty Insurance, LLC was incorporated. KLN is MRM's sister company and focuses on providing its clients with professional liability insurance brokerage services.

MRM has established a team of experts experienced in virtually every area of healthcare safety, risk management, healthcare (hospital, physician group practice etc.) operations, professional liability underwriting, practice management, information technology and medical malpractice legal defense. It is this unique combination of experience that allows MRM to help its clients design and implement effective patient safety, risk management and loss control systems.

MRM team members have worked with many healthcare systems, physician groups and both commercial and captive malpractice insurers across the country in designing and implementing successful risk management programs and educational tools.

Directions

Medical Risk Management, LLC and KLN Specialty Insurance, LLC offices are located in Hartford, Connecticut. Bradley International Airport is less than 30 miles north of MRM's offices.

1. 84 West to Exit 48 - "Asylum Street Exit"
2. At end of exit ramp, turn right at traffic light
3. The road will fork, stay to the left (Farmington Avenue) immediately after right turn
4. At first traffic light, turn left (Broad Street, going under highway)
5. At second traffic light (Shell Station on corner) turn left (onto Capitol Avenue)
6. At second traffic light, turn right onto Oak Street (across from the entrance ramp to 84 West)
7. 21 Oak Street is the first building on your right,
8. Proceed past the building to access the parking garage

91 NORTH FROM NEW HAVEN

1. Take the "Capitol Area Exit" (Exit 29A)
2. Stay in the left lane, follow the Hospital signs (blue "H"), go under Hartford Public Library
3. Follow Hospital signs around the traffic circle
4. Take your first right onto Capitol Avenue
5. Continue straight at first traffic light (next to the Bushnell Memorial Hall)
6. Get to the left lane, by the Capitol building
7. Next light is a pedestrian cross walk, continue straight
8. At next light, turn left onto Oak Street
9. 21 Oak Street is the first building on your right,
10. Proceed past the building to access the parking garage

1. Take the "Capitol Area Exit"
2. Stay in the left lane, follow the Hospital signs (blue "H"), go under Hartford Public Library
