Kevin Kelly
Kevin W. Kelly
President and Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Kelly has spent over 24 years in the healthcare and insurance industries. He founded Medical Risk Management LLC and KLN Specialty Insurance LLC in 2003. Both organizations are committed to the vision that integrating risk management education and practical risk mitigation interventions results in reduced losses, improved patient safety and lower healthcare costs. This vision has been validated over the past decade.
Mr. Kelly’s expertise includes operational, management and consulting activities spanning hospitals and healthcare systems, physician group practice development, managed care, business planning and implementation in the hospital, physician/PHO, and in an academic medical center environment.
Prior to starting Medical Risk Management and KLN Specialty Insurance, he spent two years as the Executive Director of the Signature Programs at the University of Connecticut Health Center. In this role, he directed the business plan development and implementation process of the University's three principle health care business strategies.
Mr. Kelly began his healthcare career as a National Fellow with the Blue Cross and Blue Shield Association and the American Hospital Association operating out of Washington DC and Chicago IL respectively. Post Fellowship he was an administrator at Hartford Hospital, the Connecticut Health System, and one of the founders and the first Executive Director of the Hartford Physician Hospital Organization. Mr. Kelly was the 1990 founder President and CEO of MedSpan Health Options Inc., at that time, the largest provider sponsored HMO/PPO in the Northeast. The Company was sold in 2002.
Mr. Kelly is a graduate of Providence College and Yale University. He sits on a variety of business, academic and philanthropic boards and is a frequent lecturer on the topics of healthcare financing, delivery and risk management and insurance issues.
Neil Danaher

Mr. Danaher is Chairman and a founding principal of Medical Risk Management, LLC. In his role at MRM, Mr. Danaher focuses on educational content development, providing a unique medical legal perspective. Mr. Danaher enjoys over 30 years of medical malpractice defense experience representing scores of hospitals, physicians, and other health care professionals in the medical malpractice arena.
Attorney Danaher’s expertise, gained from his extensive courtroom and claims management experience, is used to assist MRM clients in identifying exposures and implementing strategies to mitigate risks and improving the quality of patient care.
Mr. Danaher is a graduate of Georgetown Law School, and of Georgetown University.
Joyce Lagnese

Chief Legal Officer
Attorney Lagnese brings over 30 years of experience in medical malpractice defense litigation and risk management consultation on behalf of medical institutions and physician groups. She has defended hospitals, physicians, and nurses throughout the region encompassing virtually every medical specialty including internal medicine, cardiology, anesthesiology, OB/GYN, radiology, urology, psychiatry, neurology, pediatrics, emergency medicine, pathology and all of the surgical specialties. She has extensive courtroom experience, and is well familiar with the strategies employed by plaintiff attorneys to exploit health care vulnerabilities.
Attorney Lagnese has utilized the insights which she has gained from her extensive courtroom and claims management experience to assist medical institutions, physician groups and malpractice carriers to identify risk prone practices and implement strategies to mitigate risks, avoid claims and improve patient care.
Trent Sullivan
Trent R. Sullivan, MBA
Vice President of Product Development
Mr. Sullivan has spent over 15 years in the healthcare and insurance industry. He has been involved in hospital-based Quality and Utilization Management prior to becoming involved in Risk Management and Insurance. Before joining MRM, Mr. Sullivan spent five years as the Director of Risk Management at Eastern Connecticut Health Network (ECHN) where he was responsible for development and implementation of the risk management plan, organizational loss prevention, claims management and insurance solutions.
Mr. Sullivan also formed a medical malpractice and general liability captive insurance company for ECHN. He has lectured to physicians, nurses, administrators in the acute care setting, office practice and long term care setting. He was the chair of the Connecticut Hospital Association’s Risk Management Group and was the President of the Connecticut Society of Healthcare Risk Management. Mr. Sullivan is a graduate of the University of Connecticut and University of Hartford.
Jeff Jorczak
Jeff Jorczak
Vice President of Information Technology
Mr. Jorczak has over 18 years of IT experience and has worked in the healthcare and insurance industries for the last thirteen. Prior to leading the IT department at MRM, Mr. Jorczak spent six years at the UConn Health Center as Director of Application Development where he managed three development teams consisting of hospital systems, administrative systems, and custom internal systems.
Prior to that, Mr. Jorczak worked as an IT consultant for clients such as Cigna, MedSpan, and General Electric. Mr. Jorczak also worked for 3 years at Activision as a game designer, and applies game theory to the development of MRM software and tools. Mr. Jorczak is a graduate of Worcester Polytechnic Institute in Computer Engineering and is pursuing an MBA at the UConn School of Business.
Dan O'Brien
Daniel O'Brien, LNHA
Vice President of Client Services
Mr. O'Brien has over 15 years of healthcare experience, primarily in long term care, senior wellness, rehabilitation, and Medicare Advantage program development.
Most recently, Mr. O’Brien was the regional director, network and business development, for United Healthcare Corporation, and is a member of numerous healthcare associations in CT. He has a degree in Business Administration from Gettysburg College, and received his license in nursing home administration from the UCONN School of Health Systems Management.
